1.25 million for a Champion Stallion in Vechta

The Oldenburg Stallion Days finished with a brilliant auction. For 1.25 million Euros the Oldenburg Champion Stallion was purchased by the Schönweide stud. In total, the stallions generated more than three and a half million Euros.

The price record of the Oldenburg stallion market was set by the champion stallion of the Verband der Züchter des Oldenburger Pferdes (OL), a son by Bon Courage – Sezuan – Dimaggio – Landadel, bred by Jürgen Fetzer from Zimmern/Baden-Württemberg and exhibited by Rothenberger Ventures GmbH from Bad Homburg/Hessen. The strong moving champion stallion was purchased by the renowned Schönweide Stud in Schleswig-Holstein. Schönweide Stud is already home to the Oldenburg Champion Stallion Fürst Fabrice OLD and a considerably large lot of Oldenburg stallions.

The reserve champion stallion by Bonds – Bretton Woods – Gribaldi/Trak. – Arogno/Trak. bred and exhibited by Först & Besecke GbR, Kamen/North Rhine-Westphalia, was knocked down by auctioneer Thorsten Castle to the Moritzburg State Stud in Saxony for 255,000 Euros. The stallion by Vitalis – Desperados – Fürst Heinrich, bred by Clemens-August Berding, Dinklage/Lower Saxony, and exhibited by Rothenberger Ventures GmbH, Bad Homburg/Hessen, moved to Cyprus for 200,000 Euros.

The Oldenburg show jumping stallions impressed as well: The champion stallion by Tobago Z – Converter – Argentinus – Landadel, bred by Helmut jun. Zuschlag, Staufenberg/Hessen, and exhibited by Henrik Klatte from Lastrup/Lower Saxony, generated the price highlight of 165,000 Euros. The black high-flyer will move into his box at the Schockemöhle stallion station in Oldenburg Münsterland.

The premium stallion by Glasgow van’t Merelsnest – Castino – Calido, bred and exhibited by Jürgen Ernst from Essel/Lower Saxony, was knocked down to the Paul Schockemöhle stallion station for 140,000 Euros as well. His dam is the sister of six licensed stallions. The vice champion by Solid Gold – Cornet Obolensky – Quick Star, was knocked down to the international top show jumper Denis Lynch from Ireland for 105,000 Euros.

A record-breaking performance certainly goes in the books of Sönke Rothenberger, Gestüt Erlenhof. The internationally successful world class rider presented the Oldenburg Champion Stallion, the OS Premium Stallion by Chacco-Blue out of his successful mare Liza Minelli and another OL price highlight.

Five of 19 dressage stallions of the Verband der Züchter des Oldenburger Pferdes (OL), will please Oldenburg friends abroad in the future. At the Springpferdezuchtverband Oldenburg-International (OS), seven out of 21 stallions available for sale moved to Oldenburg friends abroad. In detail, the stallions will move into their boxes in the USA (3), the Netherlands (2), Great Britain (2), Ireland (1), Poland (1), Sweden (1), South Africa (1) and Cyprus (1).

The OL stallions generated total sales of 2,440,500 euros. The average price of the licensed stallions settled at 236,000 Euros. For the non-licensed stallions, it was around 31,500 euros. The jumping stallions of the OS association realized a total of 1,133,000 Euros. For a licensed stallion, bidders had to stake an average of about 75,000 euros. The unlicensed stallions cost an average of around 21,000 euros.
