James Lala quarantine facility gets horses to win
James Lala's Wellington Quarantine facility is recognized for their safety record and attention to detail.
The top-notch South Florida quarantine consistently experiences the most on-schedule and expedited releases of stallions and mares.
Lala accomplishes this record by being the first to recommend back-up testing of mares and stallions to prevent any extended stays. Working closely with Erin Newkirk, DVM, from Reid and Associates, Lala offers this service to clients who want to get their mares and stallions into the show ring as quickly as possible, while adhering to federal and state regulations
Dr. Newkirk and I really understand the importance of timely releases and have adopted multiple options to offer our clients,” shared Lala. “We are often able to release mares and stallions in record shortened stays. Of course, we always work within the protocol required by the Florida Department of Agriculture.”
Some of the world's top show jumpers and dressage horses return year after year to Wellington Quarantine. Leading riders, trainers and owners insist their European imports and prospects complete their CEM quarantine at Lala's facility. Currently, Wellington Quarantine's clients and horses are earning prizes and making victory gallops in Wellington, Ocala, Gulfport and Thermal.
“It is great to see that the horse economy is strong again,” said Lala. “Last year we had a record number of CEM imports and this year we kept up at the same, if not a brisker, pace. That is my barometer of the economy of our industry.”
