The Hanoverian Show Jumping Champions were crowned at the International Dressage and Show Jumping Festival in Verden.
The young horses convinced with top performances in the course. “The Championships are very popular with riders and breeders,” judge Klaus Gosch said. “Verden provides the perfect conditions for equestrian sports at the highest level!”
43 competitors started in the division of four-year olds with the 20 best qualifying for the Final. The Contendro/Calido-son Concalido (breeder: Sabine van den Weghe, Badbergen) already convinced in the qualification.
The brown horse also prevailed in the Final with Patrick Döller and won with a fantastic final score of 8.8, followed by Cassta by Cassus/Stakkato (breeder: Dr. Jürgen Lehner, Müggendorf), ridden by Joachim Winter.
Last year, she still participated at the Herwart von der Decken's free jumping test.
The 67 five-year-old jumpers crowned their Champion in the Final after jump-off with three judges. The licensed stallion Commissario by Catoki/Contendro (breeder: Dr. Carsten Haack, Freiburg), already rewarded with top scores in the qualification and masterly presented by Karl Brocks, posted the highest score. The judges gave 27 points in this medium level class.
The Celle state stud stallion Inliner by Iberio/Sao Paulo (breeder: Alois Naber, Saterland) and Eva Bitter came in second. The internationally successful lady rider also presented the Vice Champion in the division of six-year-old jumpers, the Stakkato/Calido-son Stalido (breeder: Renate Bosse, Wendeburg) who finished third in Verden last year. She achieved the highest score of all competitors in the first round, but had to let another competitor go first in the jump-off against the clock. Thomas Brandt found the perfect line in the course with his home-bred Hessen mare Cantara by Cristo/Cassone, and they won the medium level young jumper development class. The bay mare also qualified for the Final last year where she finished sixth. 52 young jumpers in total, born in 2006, participated at this competition.
