5th Berenberg Snow Polo at Klosters
The Swiss Alpine resort of Klosters will be the centre of the polo playing world's attention from 22 to 25 January 2009.
The Berenberg Snow Polo tournament has attracted four outstanding teams comprising 12 players from six nations. They will compete for top honours – on snow in a spectacular setting – in the world's oldest and fastest team sport.
The four teams will compete in three preliminary rounds (each against each) and a final round. The prestigious prize is the Berenberg Trophy.
Jack Kidd will attempt to defend the title with the Berenberg team, which also includes Stefan Roth and John Bunn. Another strong contender is the e-CRT team – its players are former 10-goaler Alejandro “Piki” Diaz Alberdi, John William Manconi and Marcel Geser. The only woman in the tournament is Clare Milford Haven who will team up with her husband George, and Charles Beresford in the Hackett team.
The Parmigiani team comprises three German players – Thomas Winter, his brother Christopher and Uwe Schröder.
