Anky van Grunsven back to reining again
Dutch Anky van Grunsven put her focus on dressage for the last couple of months because of the Olympics in London.
Now the Olympic rider has time again for her ‘hobby’: reining. Last weekend, Anky had two reining competitions with Whizashiningwalla BB in Wanroij (NED). After a reasonable performance on Friday, she improved her scores on the Sunday and obtained 70,5 points for her performance.
According to Anky, “…at the top of the leader board, scores were so close, there were a few riders with 71 points and then it was me with 70,5. I was very pleased with my ride and the results. Especially the first halt was very good. Halfway through the test I had a small problem with my reins, but I managed to fix it without people noticing it. The feeling was good and now I would like to score a few points higher. That is my next goal and my trainer Rieky Young is going to help me with that.”
