Ellerstina win Tortugas Open in first step towards the Triple Crown
Defending champions of the Tortugas Open, Ellerstina, retained their title in the first step of the Triple Crown in Argentina, after a heavy 21-11 win over Indios Chapaleufu II, in a superb match, which was dominated by Ellerstina from the beginning to the end.
Facundo Pieres, who scored eleven goals, was named MVP, while Irenita Farsa, ridden by Pablo MacDonough was named Best Polo Pony.
Gonzalo Pieres Jr.: “We didn't expect to win for such a difference. We knew that the team was going on well; if we worked well, we knew we could win, but never with this diffenrece. We played this match as all the finals, to play our polo since the first chukker, and things went really well for us. The horses worked great, so I would like to thank all the people who work with us in Ellerstina to make this possible. Winning this tournament has been a great motivation for us, so we expect to continue in this way.”
