FEI World Cup Vaulting in Leipzig
The field of competitors for the premiere of the FEI World Cup Vaulting at the Partner Pferd from 27 April to 1 May is complete.
A total of 14 Ladies and Men from six countries will be looking to capture the World Cup for the first time. And one thing is sure – they will “tumble” Leipzig’s spectators dizzy on this historical occasion. Two German wild card holders will also be competing: Ines Jückstock from Hamburg and Daniel Kaiser from Leipzig.
Both will be meeting a prominent field of competitors which is lead by the World Champion Patric Looser from Switzerland and the World Championship bronze medalist Nicolas Andreani from France. The World Championship silver medalist Antje Hill and bronze medalist Simone Wiegele, both from Germany, stand out for the Ladies competitions.
Daniel Kaiser is already preparing for the World Cup premiere in Leipzig. The local matador has already won the Masters Class in Leipzig twice and, after a bronze medal performance in the Czech Republic 2008, placed fifth at the World Championships in Kentucky last year.
Ines Jückstock from Hamburg received the Ladies wild card. The assistant tax adviser has been vaulting for over 20 years, has competed at four World Championships, where she won the bronze medal twice (2002 and 2004), and has won two European Championship bronze medals as well. The “northern light” counts as one of the most consistent vaulters worldwide.
The FEI World Cup Final for the vaulters will begin on Friday, 29 April, at 6:30 p.m. in the exhibition hall 3 with the first round of the Ladies competition and will be followed directly at 7 p.m. with the first round of the Men’s competition.
Both rounds of each of the World Cup competitions will be freestyles to music. The second rounds of the Final will follow on Saturday, 30 April, at 11:40 a..m. in the World Cup arena, exhibition hall 1.
