French Karim Laghouag is victorious in the Indoor Derby of Bordeaux

Full crowd and popular success for this second edition of the Devoucoux Indoor Derby of Bordeaux which has gathered the best French eventing specialists and some foreign riders.

A long and original circuit of 21 fences from the main arena to the warming arena and back to the first :

« a practice really different from what we are used to, explained the winner, the French Karim Laghouag, because here obstacles come quickly one after the other, we are almost snorkeling. » Another difficulty for the big names of the discipline: in indoor, some fences can fall which causes an additional penalty of four seconds: « That’s why there have been a lots of faults, continues Karim Laghouag, so I cared for the first part of the path. But I was indicated that I was late on the leading time, so I had to accelerate in the second half. Luckily, my mare Pegase du Tuc is really cooperative and respectful on the bars and I could fill my delay without taking huge risks.

This type of class is an excellent way to do something during the winter period and it is a great way to get the public to know our discipline. Even if in the outdoor, this is completely different since it is a triathlon: dressage, cross-country and show jumping. But the show jumping public is interested and could suddenly have the curiosity to come and see us on our usual playgrounds during the summer. »
