Horse Sport Ireland Appoints Ginny Elliott as Eventing High Performance Manager
Horse Sport Ireland has announced the appointment of Ginny Elliot (formerly Leng) as the new High Performance Manager for Eventing.
Ms Elliot has an outstanding competition record in the sport, having won four Olympic medals, three European Championships, a World Championship, five Burghleys and three Badminton Horse Trials.
She has previous coaching experience with the British, Italian and Portugese Eventing teams as well as being a personal coach to individual riders.
Ginny Elliot said that she looked forward to taking up the position and that she was very ambitious for the Irish team.
“In my experience Irish event riders have huge potential and terrific natural talent. I am looking forward to working with them to achieve success for Ireland,” she said.
Horse Sport Ireland CEO Damian McDonald said that he was delighted that Ms. Elliot had agreed to take up the role.
“Ginny Elliot has an outstanding record in the sport. She will be provided with strong administrative back-up from within Horse Sport Ireland to allow her to focus on working directly with Ireland’s senior and developmental level eventing squads” he said.
Ms Elliot has signed a two year contract with Horse Sport Ireland and will take up the position on March 7th , 2008.
