Spectators were – due to Corona – not admitted, but the quality of the young horse shown at the Oldenburg Foal Show at the Dressurpferde Leistungszentrum Lodbergen (DLZ) was once again outstanding.
Right at the beginning the offspring evaluation of De Royal was on the agenda: and the first foals of the DLZ young stallion knew how to convince all along the line. “Good necks, correct conformation, standing in a rectangular format, with generous movement and also absolutely convincing in walk,” was how Bernhard Thoben summarized his thoroughly positive impressions of De Royal’s heredity on behalf of the Oldenburg Evaluation Committee.
A De Royal daughter out of the breeding stable of Gerd and Hajo Reuter, a dam by the DLZ Grand Prix stallion Dante Weltino OLD, was not only shown as an Elite Foal. The typey bay filly also received the coveted auction approval. “Correct, expressive, light-footed, with very good movement dynamics and also absolutely convincing on the walk ring,” commented Bernhard Thoben. Another extremely strong daughter by De Royal (M. by Fidertanz, breeder: Reitstall Dallherm) was also awarded the title of Elite Foal.
Further offspring from De Royal’s first crop received a premium, including the colt that was born by Theo Klaus and has a dam by Fürst Heinrich.
Wolfgang Stagge presented the breeders of these three mentioned foals with valuable stud fee vouchers – in compliance with the Corona minimum distance. “De Royal has more than fulfilled our expectations”, the DLZ stallion station manager explained, “the foals of our other stallions, such as For Romance I OLD, La Vie and Rock For Me, were once again convincing”.
