Two members of Spain’s London Olympic Dressage Team will be special guests at this year’s PRE-Show Party at the Global Pavilion at the Global Dressage Festival on February 13th.
This is the first visit to Wellington for Juan Manuel Munoz, celebrated rider of Fuego de Cardenas, the gray PRE stallion who won the hearts of Americans at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, and who finished 10th overall at the London Olympics. Juan Manuel’s teammate, Daniel Martin Dockx, rode PRE stallion Grandioso III of Hampton Green Farm for Spain in London, less than a year after they were named Grand Prix Champions of Spain.
Juan Manuel and Daniel will do a riding and teaching demonstration in the International Arena at the Global Dressage showgrounds, followed by other performances of PRE Horses and Spanish traditions.
The PRE-Show Party is an annual Paella dinner and Spanish festival hosted by USPRE–the United States PRE Association–always held on move-in night of the CDI. All participants and exhibitors of the Florida Dressage Classic CDI-W are invited, and in keeping with prior years, the dinner and festival are free of charge.
There will be lots of Spanish flavor, rhythm and hospitality to celebrate the success of PRE horses around the world in all disciplines.
This year, the Flamenco students of New Horizons Elementary School will perform a traditional Spanish dance, led by instructor Maria Guimon, wife of former Spanish Olympian Juan Matute, both of whom now reside in Wellington.
