Christoph Sandmann looses top horse

Germany’s Aachen bronze medallist Christoph Sandmann has lost one of his top indoor horses Dicky on 8 February.

The 13-year old Belgian warmblood (v. Hercos) was the left leader in his indoor team and with the Final of the FEI World Cup Driving on the programme this weekend; the loss is extra tough for Sandmann and his family. Dicky was also used as left wheeler in dressage and left leader in the marathon and obstacle driving competitions.

“Dicky was transported to the riding school close by in a horse trailer, as we do every week to ride him. He became unwell and when he arrived he laid on the floor of the trailer concluded a distressed Sandmann.

Sandmann will replace Dicky this weekend in the Final with one of his outdoor horses.
