FEI Rankings Monthly Update – November 2024

The FEI oversees around 70 Rankings and Standings across all the disciplines, from World Rankings calculated on a monthly basis for Athletes, Horses and/or Combinations, to league, team and regional based standings for Series such as the Longines League of Nations™, FEI World Cup™ and FEI Nations Cup™, as well as a variety of youth categories, among others.

You will find below a snapshot of the main movers and shakers for the month of November 2024 in the senior World Rankings, as well as a special spotlight on the FEI Dressage World Youth Ranking for this month’s special “Ranking Spotlight”.

Longines Rankings: Henrik von Eckermann consolidates his dominance

No changes in the top four of the rankings, as Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) remains at the top of the rankings for yet another month with a total of 3,455 points, followed by Swiss athlete Steve Guerdat (3,174 points), Britain’s Ben Maher (3,087 points) and Kent Farrington (USA) with 2,953 points. Julien Epaillard (FRA) moves up one spot, rounding up the top 5 on 2,880 points.

Longines League of Nations™ Ranking: Italy qualified for the Longines League of NationsTM 2025

This month’s Longines League of NationsTM Ranking has determined the qualified teams for the next edition. Germany secured their place in the 2025 edition following their victory in the Final in Barcelona (ESP), while the remaining qualified nations are Ireland, France, USA, Great Britain, Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands and Sweden. Italy has grabbed the last qualification spot and will participate for the first time in the Longines League of NationsTM after finishing in 10th place of the ranking.

FEI Dressage World Ranking – Athletes:  Fourth month at the top for Isabell Werth  

No changes at the top of the Ranking. Germany’s Isabell Werth (2,062 points) remains in first position for fourth consecutive month. Trailing just 30 points behind is Denmark’s Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour (2,032 points), who climbs to second place after surpassing Charlotte Fry (GBR – 1,955 points) and Dinja Van Liere (NED – 1,897 points). Former number one Jessica von Bredow-Werndl (GER) maintains the fifth position with 1,831 points.

FEI Dressage World Ranking – Horses: Mount St John Freestyle reaches the top

After climbing 51 spots, Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour’s mare Mount St John Freestyle is the new leader of the ranking, with 2,032 points. Wendy de Fontaine is now second with 1,982 points, while Glamourdale (1,941 points), Hermes N.O.P. (1,816 points) and Fame (1,806 points) drop one position each to complete the top five.

FEI Eventing World Athlete Ranking: Tim Price goes after Tom McEwen’s number one 

Great Britain’s Tom McEwen (552 points) remains the leader of the FEI Eventing World Athlete Ranking. Tim Price (NZL – 536 points) is closely chasing the leader after surpassing Rosalind Canter (GBR), who’s now third with 487 points. Belgium’s Lara De Liedekerke-Meier (413 points) maintains the fourth position, while Julia Krajewski (GER) makes it back to the top five after climbing seven positions on 402 points.

FEI Driving World Ranking – Four-in-Hand / Pairs / Singles: Exell, Schneiders and Schiltz, solid leaders.

There are no changes at the top of the FEI Driving World Rankings. In the Four-in-Hand, World Champion Boyd Exell (AUS) continues to maintain his strong leadership with 210 points, while Germany’s Dennis Schneiders (96 points) holds the top spot earned a month ago in Pairs. Luxemburg’s Marie Schiltz holds the number one spot on 89 points in the Singles category.

FEI Endurance Riders and Trainer World Ranking: Al Kitbi and Bettenfeld maintain number one

No changes at the top of the FEI Endurance Riders World Ranking. Salem Hamad Saeed Malhoof Al Kitbi (UAE) remains number one (1,308 points), followed by France’s Virginie Atger with 1,276 points. Her compatriot Melody Theolissat completes the top three with 1,224 points. In the Trainers’ Ranking, Samuel Bettenfeld (FRA) continues to hold the top spot with 1,416 points, now followed by Spaniard Robert Díez Noguera (1,250 points) who has risen three places to become the world number two.

Ranking Spotlight: Freja Oline Skovhus Lindblad climbs 89 spots in the FEI Dressage World Youth Ranking – Young Riders 

Just a month ago, current Individual and Team Baltic Champion Freja Oline Skovhus Lindblad (DEN) was the number 100 in the FEI Dressage World Youth Ranking – Young Riders. Her two performances in Herning (DEN), where she and her partner Egelund Yurrell earned two victories in both Individual and Freestyle competitions, have propelled her to number 11 in the ranking , just eight points behind the top 10.
