Giulia Martinengo Marquet joins Scuderia 1918

Scuderia 1918 sets up a new partnership at the top level of showjumping. After buying half of Halifax van het Kluizebos and starting a cooperation with Stephex Stables, Scuderia 1918 has signed an agreement with Giulia Martinengo Marquet, who rides for the Italian Air Forces.This partnership includes the joint-ownership of some of the present top jumpers of the Italian lady rider, but it also contemplates purchasing some new young talented horses that will all compete with the affix Scuderia 1918.

“I have always admired Giulia Martinengo Marquet – Maria Anchisi said –  and not only for her refined technique, for the elegance of her style and for her fighting spirit in the ring. Giulia has a very high level of professionalism that she developed together with her husband Stefano Cesaretto, but also a careful management of her horses from the ground, under saddle and in the stables, according to the progression of their sports career, always respecting their well-being. This approach completely reflects the philosophy of Scuderia 1918.”

Giulia Martinengo Marquet is also really pleased: “I’m enthusiastic about this new partnership and I hope this is just the beginning of a long story. This project is the chance I never had before. It is a lifelong dream coming true!” the Italian rider said.

Giulia Martinengo Marquet, born in 1979, has been representing Italian showjumping wearing the Air Forces uniform in the most important international rings for years.Together with wins and placings in CSI and CSIO, she has taken part in two editions of the European Championships. She is also the only Italian lady rider capable of winning the Italian Championships twice so far and she holds the title to this day, after winning the gold medal in Arezzo in 2018 aboard Verdine SZ. With the same mare she contributed to the success of the Italian team in the FEI Nations Cup at CSIO Rome 2018. Giulia is also the co-founder of SGH Stables together with Stefano Cesaretto.
