Golegã, a tribute to the Iberian Horse

With success the Golegã’s annual celebration of the horse – Golegã Horse Fair – a flamboyant festival for horse lovers ended last week.

Besides its usual programme, this year coincided with a special meeting of The European Network of Horses Cities Euro Equus, a non-profit association that was established on May 3, 2005 by four European cities – Waregem (Belgium), Pardubice (Czech Republic), Jerez de la Frontera (Spain) and Golegã (Portugal).

EURO EQUUS represents a network of great importance, which will allow for the exchange of experience and transfer of useful knowledge. Furthermore, it will enable the members to jointly prepare training projects as well as organize exhibitions, races and other events.

Euro Equus aims to promote and further develop the cultural heritage of horses.
