Guilherme Sarmento Resigns as FEI Treasurer
At a meeting with the FEI President, HRH Princess Haya of Jordan, on Thursday 1 June, Guilherme Sarmento resigned as FEI Treasurer, citing personal reasons.
Mr Sarmento has been FEI Treasurer for the past six years, has served as member of the Finance Committee since 1993 and as a foreign judge at many of the top international show jumping competitions and championships.
Following Sarmento’s departure, Alain Guillet (SUI) has been appointed as the acting FEI Treasurer.
HRH Princess Haya, said: “I would like to pay tribute to the genuine commitment Guilherme has shown the FEI during his tenure as treasurer. I fully understand the reasons for his resignation and I wish him well for the future. I would like to thank him for the contribution he has made as a volunteer working for the FEI.”
