Twenty race horses were killed in a fire in Turim
A stable fire has killed twenty top race horses valued at one million euros, on Monday night in the Turim reagion, north of Italy.
The fire crews were called to the stables of Fabrizio Quaglino, owner of the premises where the race horses were stabled. Although the response from the fire crew was prompt, hay stored in the stables close by, set the large stable block alight causing the death of 20 horses.
The horses were found dead inside after the fire was put out.
Twelve horses managed to escape the fire and flee to an adjoining property. They were later recovered.
