WEG: The first foreign horses are heading for the WEG in Kentucky

Argentine and Colombian endurance horses left quarantine yesterday and are on their way to Kentucky. They will be the first foreign arrivals for the World Equestrian Games and the first admitted to the Kentucky Horse Park. They arrived Thursday night at the Kentucky Horse Park, the venue for the WEG.

A total of 514 horses are expected: 446 horses from Europe flying directly to the quarantine center which has been set up in Cincinnati. 49 horses from Latin America arriving via Miami and 19 horses from the Pacific region will be coming through Los Angeles. Some of the foreign horses are already in the US for a few months for training and preparation for the event of the year starting 25 September 2010.
