Clayton Fredericks trades helmet for mullet

Top Australian eventer Clayton Fredericks has grunged up for a photo shoot, trading his jodhpurs and riding helmet for a microphone, mullet and a guitar.

Fredericks, who plays in what he calls a “super rock music” band named Snatch in his spare time, really let things rip as a rock 'n' roller for the new CHIO Aachen Magazine, Issue 29. He dressed up as Slash, Angus Young and Axl Rose for the photo series “for those about to rock”.

The magazine also presents Dutch equestrian stars – Hinrich Romeike and others – who tell of the meaning their native country has for them, and Britain's Laura Bechtolsheimer, number four in the dressage world rankings, explains why she is a country bumpkin and why dressage isn't the be-all and end-all.

The issue additionally also includes current coverage and interviews on the CHIO Aachen 2010.

“The CHIO Aachen Magazine is full of surprises: it shows horses and riders in special prospects, it is emotional and arouses enthusiasm for our fantastic sport”, says Michael Mronz, the General Manager of the Aachener Reitturnier GmbH.
