Jaeger-LeCoultre and Equestrian sports

1931, date of birth of the Reverso

An era when people’s lives still followed the cadence of horses’ hoof-beats. Polo, the ultimate equestrian discipline, earned its pedigree during this period and the Reverso was developed specifically to withstand the rough and tumble of this chic leisure activity. Capable of accompanying players’ sporting feats while maintaining its exemplary discretion, its stainless steel case slid in its support and swivelled completely to turn its back on time. The Reverso was born.

Through sports partnerships supported by the brand in many different countries and the announcement of an agreement signed with the world’s finest jumping organisation, the longstanding ties between Jaeger-LeCoultre and Equestrian sports are stronger than ever.

Nobility, speed, accuracy and impeccable dexterity are the principles that have consistently inspired the rules of polo, and jumping.

Jaeger-LeCoultre during Global Champion Tour events

From the entrance arch to the main playground, Jaeger-LeCoultre will be present on the main areas of the competitions. During the three European events, guests will be welcomed in the Jaeger-LeCoultre VIP area, where they will attend a beautiful spectacular and also discover the latest timepieces from La Grande Maison.

Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre

Born of an invention, the Grande Maison has always been driven by the spirit of discovery; the need to create new, ever more accurate and more complex technical marvels. Year after year, knowledge and skills have been enriched, renewed and multiplied to serve the unique purpose of mastering the countless operations involved in manufacturing watch movements and cases – the fundamental prerequisite for rising to the most daunting technical challenges.

A major player in watch making history, Jaeger-LeCoultre has celebrated its 175th anniversary in 2008. The Manufacture has an impressive range of world firsts, superlative creations and legendary models to its credit, including the Reverso, the Master Control, the Memovox Polaris, the Gyrotourbillon I and the Atmos. In 2010, around 1000 people proficient in over 40 watch making professions and more than 20 cutting-edge technologies continue to pay tribute to the pioneering ardour of the company founders by creating new masterpieces proudly perpetuating the grand horological tradition. As an extension to the capacious premises now surrounding Antoine LeCoultre’s original atelier, Jaeger-LeCoultre inaugurated a new building providing 9,000m2 of additional workshop space.
