Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein engaged

The Danish Royal Court has today announced the engagement of HH Princess Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg aged 34 to Alexander Johannsmann aged 32.

Princess Nathalie is the youngest daughter of HRH Princess Benedikte of Denmark and HH Prince Richard zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, while Alexander Johannsmann is a German national from the town of Gütersloh, near Bielefeld. Both Nathalie and Alexander are in the equestrian field.

The statement released by Kongehuset also stated that the couple has just departed for a holiday in Australia and will return to Germany later this month.

Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein, who is successful in the dressage scene mostly with her two top horses Digby and Rigoletto, won the team bronze medal at the Hong kong Olympics together with her team mates Andreas Helgstrand and Anne van Olst. Alexander Johannsmann is working in his uncle’s enterprise – the wellknown horse transportation company Johannsmann. Their mutual love for horses brought them together.

Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein and Alexander Johannsmann are right on their way to Australia, where Nathalie will give some clinics – but it can be guessed that the two newly-engaged will find some time to celebrate their official engagement.
