Say “no” to donkey basketball, says Peta
Animal welfare group PETA is trying to cancel a game of donkey basketball scheduled for next week in Streator High School.
“Besides putting people’s safety at risk, abusive events such as donkey basketball give students a lesson in cruelty,” PETA assistant director Kristie Phelps said in a press release. “Streator Township High School should be promoting competitions that feature only willing human participants.”
The game organized by the Streator High School cheerleaders is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday.
