Susanna Bordone to undergo facial reconstructive surgery
Italian eventing rider Susanna Bordone had to undergo emergency facial reconstructive surgery after her horse Amacuzzi had bitten her in the face during the Luhmühlen Horse Trials in Germany last weekend (14-19 June).
While putting a rug on her horse during the night, Amacuzzi snapped the 29-year-old Susanna Bordone so badly that she had to have a first operation at the end of this week.
Susanna Bordone holds the title of national champion in Italy and won the team bronze medal at the European Championships in 2007. During last year’s World Equestrian Games in Kentucky she participated in dressage and eventing competitions.
