The Portuguese stallion, Nobre Saramunheiro (Dragão Figueiras x Roleta x Mandador), winner of the best Lusitano horse at the Young Horses Championships 2023, as well as first place in the best 6-year-olds class, was sold to a foreign investor who had this to say:
“I have been looking for a Lusitano with this type of quality for a long time, André Bilreiro, who knows the breed well and has a lot of contacts in Portugal, helped me find Nobre and turn this opportunity into a reality.
In my opinion, he is one of the most complete Lusitanos I have ever seen. Most of the horses in my yard are Warmbloods but, increasingly, I believe that that the Lusitano breed has a huge potential in this discipline principally because of its rideability which, in my view as a rider, is something that the breeders should always bear in mind.
Nuno Chaves de Almeida did a fantastic job with Nobre which I am in certain in the future will be a differentiating factor in developing Nobre into the horse that I believe he will become”.
The owner added the horse is currently still available for reproduction for the 2024 season.
