Dutch games developer W!Games (www.wgames.biz) announces its publishing agreement with Atari (www.atari.com), one of the worlds largest publishers and distributors of games, for the studio’s first title My Horse and Me. Upon release, the game is set to become the highest quality horse riding game on the market.
My Horse and Me is being developed for PC and Nintendo Wii by W!Games and Atari in conjunction with the world’s foremost horse sports organisation, the Federation For Equestrian Sports (FEI, www.horsesport.org). The game will be released in the autumn of 2007 in Europe and the US. Canadian development house Mistic provides the Nintendo DS version of My Horse and Me but W!Games is the ‘preferred partner’ for all future My Horse and Me releases.
Atari and W!Games want to provide a great gaming experience for both mainstream audiences and horse enthusiasts. “The FEI has never given its license to a horse riding game before. The quality the FEI looks for regarding representation of the sport and the care of horses is very high”, says Production Director at W!Games, Jan-Pieter van Seventer. “But when we approached the FEI with our game, they were enthusiastic right from the start. My Horse and Me really is the result of a talented development team and horse riding experts.”
W!Games was founded in 2005 and currently works on a number of games for various platforms. My Horse and Me is the studio’s first announced title. “We are all very happy with this”, says Marketing & Sales Director, Maarten Brands. “We’re about to release our first game this year, and we are building up some really valuable expertise for one of the most popular consoles at the moment, the Nintendo Wii. Going forward, we also have some great new projects lined up for the future”
