World Ranking Top Seven Prepare for Battle in Paris

The top seven riders in the Longines FEI World Ranking head up a fantastic line-up for the Longines Global Champions Tour Paris Eiffel Jumping, presented by Gucci, which began today at 9am in front of sold out stands and a packed VIP. The first international CSI5* class of this inaugural show will feature a stunning line-up of Scott Brash (GBR), Ben Maher (GBR), Ludger Beerbaum (GER), Marcus Ehning (GER), Kevin Staut (FRA), Patrice Delaveau (FRA) and Pénélope Leprevost (FRA), as well as many more of show jumping’s biggest names.

Home star Kevin Staut, one of the favourites to win Saturday’s Grand Prix, has charged up the Longines World Ranking this month after some great results on the Tour, including a Bronze medal in the sparkling LGCT Cannes Grand Prix and a feature win on the last day of the spectacular LGCT Shanghai show. Staut currently lies 4th on the LGCT Championship Ranking just 31 points behind top-ranked rider Edwina Tops-Alexander (AUS), who is leading the pack with 146 points.

Inspired by the incredible performance of Qatari Bassem Hassan Mohammed, who triumphed in the Monaco Grand Prix last weekend, the young and glamorous rising stars of show jumping will once again be fighting to make their way to the top of the podium in a field of experienced world-class athletes. Jessica Springsteen (USA), Constant van Paesschen (BEL), Flaminia Straumann (SUI), Alexandra Thornton (GBR) and Georgina Bloomberg (USA) will be taking on Olympic Gold medal winners and World Champions in the feature classes, the Prix du Qatar, Gucci Gold Cup Paris Eiffel Jumping and Longines Global Champions Tour of Paris Grand Prix.
