Staut and Beau de Laubry Z storm to victory in Stuttgart

French star Kevin Staut stole the show in Stuttgart (GER) today when sealing victory with a stunning jump-off round from the 10-year-old gelding Beau de Laubry Z in the fifth leg of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ 2023/2024 Western European League.

Fifth to go of the eight through to the deciding round the pair stormed home in 41.78 seconds, and it was the last-to-go British partnership of Harry Charles and Casquo Blue who lined up second with a brilliant run that saw them break the beam fractionally slower in 41.92.

Third place went to another Frenchman, Francois Xavier Boudant, who set the pace in the second round in 41.78 with Brazyl du Mezel, and Germany’s Hans-Dieter Dreher and Elysium slotted into fourth.

Today’s win moves Staut up from 19th into fifth place on the Western European League leaderboard on the road to the Longines 2024 Final which will take place in Riyadh (KSA) next April.

The next round of the 14-leg qualifying series takes place in Madrid (ESP) next weekend.
