Reigning champions, Germany’s Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and TSF Dalera BB, claimed their second victory of the FEI Dressage World Cup™ 2022/2023 Western European League series in Basel, Switzerland today with another brilliant performance that produced the only over-90% score of the competition.
Posting a mark of 90.795 the 37-year-old athlete and the amazing 16-year-old mare pinned compatriot and multiple medallist Isabell Werth and the stallion DSP Quantaz into runner-up spot, while on their debut together at this level of the sport Denmark’s Nanna Skodborg Merrald and Blue Horse Zepter clinched third.
Von Bredow-Werndl’s brother, Benjamin Werndl, finished fourth with Daily Mirror 9 and that result has promoted the German rider to pole position on the Western European League leaderboard.
Today’s competition was the seventh of 11 legs in the Western European series from which the top nine riders will qualify for the FEI Dressage World Cup™ Final in Omaha, USA in April. As defending champion von Bredow-Werndl is automatically qualified.
