2007 European Working Equitation Championships

Great Britain will be hosting the European Working Equitation Championships at the superb newly constructed International Arena at Hartpury College, Gloucestershire.

Teams from Spain, Italy, France, Portugal and Great Britain, as well as individual riders from other countries, will contest the championships, which are being held for the first time in the UK.

Based on competition results produced during the 2007 show season and the current health of the horses, the following working equitation riders riding Lusitano horses were selected for the team: Bruno Conceição (Trinco), André Conceição (Nohio), David Oliveira (Otario), Miguel Fonseca (Saturno) e Eduardo Almeida (Olé). The programme for the 2007 European Working Equitation Championships is :

Saturday 1st September – Morning : Dressage Tests – Afternoon : Obstacle Style Tests

Sunday 2nd September – Morning : Obstacle Speed Tests – Afternoon : Entertainment Spectacular & Prize Giving Ceremony (at Hartpury College, Glos)

The cattle test section of the European Working Equitation Championships will be held at Llandinabo Farms, Hereford (by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Symonds) on Sunday morning 2nd September 10:30am – 12:30pm. Llandinabo Farms keep a herd of Traditional Hereford cattle. The Farm will be open to the public only on the morning of 2nd September.

A hog roast and refreshments/bar will be available.

The commentary for the event will be provided by the renowned commentator and 2003 Equestrian Voice of the Year, Philip Ghazala.

The Afternoon Spectacular will feature a selection of equestrian entertainment, culminating in the prize giving ceremony for the 2007 European Working Equitation Championships.
